They say there is all sorts of strange stuff in the desert around Las Vegas. Area 51, nuclear testing zones, etc.
Previously we reported on a triangle shape in the desert, now an octagon has been found, about 38 miles north of Las Vegas in the middle of nowhere. It is exactly 1 mile across.
Why would anyone take the time to make such a thing?

In Google Earth is a point marker that mentioned this discussion that there are poles at each vertex, and speculation that it may be an antenna.

And I like the huge bulls-eyes in the bombing range to the SW.

It looks like ground marks to training/calibrating UAVs based on Creech AFB

On the speculation about it being an Octoloop antenna — I disagree. The Octoloop seems to me to be sensitive to signals at right angles to the plane of the loop, so an Octoloop on the ground would be useful for listening to signals which are directly above the antenna. Doesn’t seem particularly useful unless you are flying aircraft directly overhead and listening to them, or transmitting to them.

Rather strange that it is exactly 11.5 miles precisely northeast of the Nevada State Prison.
